Cinderous already ships desktop and web. Here's what's done, and what's planned next.
Desktop (Windows), web app (browser, local-first encrypted), end-to-end encrypted messaging (Nostr NIP-17/44/59) with decentralized relays, WebRTC P2P (files / presence / calls), groups, multi-identity, enterprise roster, per-event notification toggles and per-conversation mute, and the classic MSN layout (floating windows, contact grouping).
The code is complete and passes our own tests, but it has **not been reviewed by an independent cryptography audit**. Crypto bugs don't break anything visibly — they just fail to protect, with no symptoms — so we won't treat it as a selling point until that review is done. If you want to try it early, you can turn it on yourself under Settings → Privacy in the app (off by default; we explain this again when you enable it).
Mobile is currently React Native Web (the portable base and native shims are in place); native packaging (Expo / RN), OS keychain, and native notifications remain to be wired. iOS requires a macOS build.
For mobile to notify while the app is closed, we need push plus a relay; this involves a privacy trade-off (can push only "new message" without content).
Tauri already supports them; current releases are Windows — macOS / Linux packaging is pending.
The web app currently uses the default Cloudflare Worker URL; a custom domain will be bound later.
